Rapid City Community Conversations will be hosting a celebration of on-going efforts for "Community innovation to reverse institutional and individual racism through conversations focused on relationship-building and shared values."

A run/walk will begin at Memorial Park at approximately 0900 hours with participants heading out on 2 routes, each traveling 2.5K incorporating the four directions (north, east, south, and west) representing spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical elements of positive change. Each route will have an aid station (water stop) at the turn-around points for the 5K. The walk/run will start east of the Bandshell, where a registration/first aid station available. Runners / Walkers will be divided into the four groups (each group has been designated one of the four colors of the medicine wheel), participants will wear corresponding colored t-shirts. The race will start with an aerial photo of the runners/walkers grouped as if a medicine wheel. Runners will start first, followed by walkers.

The Memorial Park Bandshell and surrounding area will host activities for the non-runners/walkers, such as dance groups, community service provider booths, American Indian games, etc. The event will culminate with an awards program for all participants with keynote speakers from the American Indian Community, the Rapid City Mayor's Office, other Community Leaders, etc.

Schedule: 8am Registration Opens / 9am Opening Ceremony / 9:15am Runners Race Begins
