Our purpose is to engage community members in our conversations by treating each voice as equal, each opinion as valid, and taking the high road with our efforts. We learn from each other in a climate created to allow for new and lasting friendships.
We encourage new people to participate through word of mouth, social media and/or through our family and friends. If you are waiting for an invitation to participate, this is it, please join us.
Each month, a conversation gathering is held to sometimes address a specific topic or promote on organized open forum (Talking Circle) to bring forward ideas, concerns, information, whatever is important that furthers the work of Rapid City Community Conversations.
Monthly conversations are typically held the third Thursday of the month at 6pm; the location varies based on the topic.
We look forward to seeing you.
Save The Date - Meet the Candidates Forum
Never before has the Rapid City election scene been so electrically charged as with the year’s slate of candidates. With the goal of increasing diversity among the make-up of the City Council to bringing a voice to those who feel underrepresented in the halls of city government. Rapid City Community Conversations has invited each of the Native American candidates to a meet and greet with the community. Please join us as we get to know each candidate better and learn what their individual goals are for the office they seek.

We will gather at Canyon Lake Park for an evening on conversation, storytelling, and s'mores'. All are welcome, including families.
The evening will begin with a cook out. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided, please bring a dish to share. Storytelling and stargazing will be highlights for the dusk hours. Plenty of time for reflection and socialization. This will be a relaxed and contemplative get together. Hope to see you there. Bring your own lawn chairs.
We will be at the Chimney Picnic Shelter, west side of park.
